Our first backpack. The Bridge is a roll-top in black, made from heavyweight waxed cotton for the commute during the week and whatever you're doing at the weekend.
The outside is deliberately clean. One hidden pocket sits in the side seam for your phone and keys, and everything else happens inside: a full-length central zip opens the bag right out so you can pack it flat and actually see your gear. A laptop sleeve, a notebook sleeve and a bottle pocket keep it all in order. Roll the top down and the zip is covered. Short of a pair of scissors, there's no way in.
The fabric is a 400gsm waxed cotton ripstop, woven and waxed in Dundee by Halley Stevensons and sewn in Glasgow by a small workshop that has been making technical bags for years. It's water resistant rather than waterproof. It sheds a British commute without fuss, and when the wax eventually wears down you re-proof it with wet wax and carry on. Like all good waxed cotton, it looks better the longer you own it.
The straps are slimmer than most and subtly curved. A lot of backpacks sit badly across women's shoulders, so we designed these to sit well on any back.
